Our Story

Ron Carroll wants everyone to know that a change of leadership at Buck Stove means continued growth and more hiring locally, but most of all it means building on the core values that made Buck Americas most trusted name in fire. After more than two decades being part of that growth as a salesman, Ron Carroll is naturally quite familiar with all the moving parts that make up Buck Stove.

From his first trade show in Atlanta, back in 2001, Ron felt the pride and excitement of representing an American company determined to remain as a manufacturer in Spruce Pine, employing local folks and sourcing the materials involved as close to home as possible-even when it meant spending more time and money in the process. “It has always been about quality and commitment to community and made-in-America craftsmanship here at Buck. We will continue to stress those values going forward.”

Buck Stove is certainly growing, having added over twenty additional workers since April, when Ron began his tenure. The company also added new technical manufacturing equipment, increasing manufacturing capacity and efficiencies as well.

He praised founder Robert Bailey for the vision and work involved in their past success, and the move to their present set-up of 300,00 square feet facility on the 80-acre site in 2008, comprising manufacturing, warehousing and showroom sites.

Bailey will continue to be available to Ron, staying on through December to help during the transition. Buck will remain true to its deep roots and determined to innovate and improve.

Carroll will use that time wisely, soaking up as much insight and wisdom as he can from Bailey, as well as moving forward on more updates and streamlining internally. Both men are deeply involved in local development and quality of life for all community members. Buck is an appreciated neighbor and employer in the area, respected and embraced over the years.

As an ex-marine Carroll naturally looks for ways to benefit veterans and honor them in different ways. Ron stresses that his door is always open, his plans are always local, and Buck is not going anywhere-but up!
